March 25, 1948 - March 11, 1985

       Nick Smith died on March 11, 1985, in Tucson, AZ, the victim of a tragic shooting.  He was in the retailing business in Tucson at the time of his death.  Nick was survived by his son, Bradley Shaler Smith, of Audubon, PA, as well as two sisters and two brothers.  He’s buried in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bernardsville, NJ.

      At MHS, Nick played on the varsity football team as an offensive center.  Following graduation, Nick attended and graduated from Albright College in Reading, PA, along with MHS classmate Rich Golber.  In college, he played and lettered in both football and track, and he was a member of Zeta Omega Epsilon fraternity.  Nick graduated from Albright with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.

       In June of 1970, Nick married Judith Ann Clews of Bloomberg, PA.  Judith, a Pennsylvania nursing school graduate, was an operating room nurse at Waltham Massachusetts Hospital.  Following their marriage, the couple lived in nearby Watertown, MA.

      Sometime thereafter, Nick moved to Arizona, but we have been unable to learn any details of how that came about or his life there.
