      Ron of Union Township, NJ, died on March 25, 2016, at age 68.  Born in Irvington, NJ, and raised in Short Hills, he lived most of his life in Hunterdon County, NJ.  He attended Parsons College in Iowa and worked most of his life in food and beverage services, retiring about three years ago.  His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, especially cheering them on at their baseball games and other activities.  He also loved golf and spent a lot of free time playing the game.  Ron had many friendships in his life, and all will miss him.  His father, Erich F. Walters, predeceased him.  His mother, Erika; two daughters, Michelle Bridge and Cynthia Hall; his brother, Richard; and four grandchildren survived him.

      Alan Ganek remembers hearing that “one day the brake on a truck parked on Morris Turnpike failed and the truck began rolling with no driver.  Walking nearby, Ron realized the problem, jumped into the truck and brought it to a halt, making him quite the hero.  (Of course, what he was doing on Morris Turnpike in the middle of a school day is a different matter!)”
